Flower Power! ~ Nail Art

Now nail art is a totally new territory to me but after being inspired by Lily Pebbles I thought I'd have a go at a bit of flower power in a nod to springs near arrival.

Day in the Life #1

So I was out and about on a busy day and I thought it was a nice idea to share the views and scenery I was walking amongst. Sorry for the blurred pictures, most of them were taken on a moving vehicle very badly so bare with me on that side of things. I tried to make things artistic and unusual by adjusting angles but something tells me it looks like I've just dragged my phone through a bush!

Budget Friendly Skincare Routine

Being a student I haven't immersed myself in expensive high end skin care just yet. I try and pick a few things from the drug-store that I can try and test out on my face and if it doesn't work out then I don't need to worry about wasting tonnes of money on it. Having dry/very dry skin with an oily nozzle I need to find a balance between the products I use so it can add moisture as well as cleansing the oiliness out.

"Your Lips But Better"

I've been slowly getting into lipsticks again and I'm in a transitional phase. I've graduated the lip balms and glosses and now I'm onto natural lipstick shades.

Being gifted the Calvin Klein lipstick in my recent secret Santa present swap was a total surprise and great colour choice for my lips. At first the sight of the purple-pink lipstick put me off, but on application it turned out to be the perfect shade of pink (shade 'First Kiss' ) to accentuate my natural lip colour.

The actual formula is a bit hit and miss. Having extremely dry lips I'm probably not the perfect road tester, however even after pre-moisturising and softening this lipstick somehow has a tendency to have the 'dry lipstick' status. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love the shade but I think it isn't suited for people with dry lips as it kind of settles in the creases and exaggerates the dryness.

On the plus side pairing it with a gloss seems to do the trick and I guess it just has to be one of 'those' lipsticks that need a gloss to enhance its colour, which I don't seem to mind because I like how it unifies the hyper-pigmentation on my lips to give them a normal colour.

Have you got any recommendations for me after reading of my weird lip conditions?

Monogram Room Plaques// DIY

I'm always looking for different ways to add a shabby chic vibe to my room through decor. I prefer DIY methods purely for the fact that it's virtually free and who can pass an opportunity to get out the old paper and scissors eh? It's rather therapeutic to me, choosing which floral pattern and font I want, but if it doesn't tickle your fancy then there are usually templates online that do the job for you.

Monogram plaques are a chic and I'm usually spotting them in expensive decor shops for ridiculous prices. Choosing DIY means I can use various prints and colours to symbolise my personality or style, whilst not breaking the bank.

Too Late For Resolutions?

New years has come and is in full swing, and here is me still trying to figure out what to do with my life (typical)! Nobody ever sticks to the everlasting long lists to diet and workout so I've kept those orders on a back burner. Instead I've selected a more meaningful list of things I wish to accomplish in the coming months.

The Room Tour Edit #1

Having a dream of being an interior designer one day, decorating my room and adding little bits of personality here and there is a way of practising my love for textures and textiles. The run up to my full room tour will consist of little snippets and tips I have for decorating your own spaces.

CUSHIONS: I'm a sucker for cushions in every shape and form. From ones with cute quotes and messages to rectangular and knitted ones, any style of cushion can be layered with each other to create a cosy atmosphere in your chosen space.

101 Ways To Reuse A Body Butter Tub // DIY

... Well maybe not 101.

I have a DIY gift solution for you! Well technically its a way to reuse your old body butter containers into a gift box or storage solution. First you'll need to round up all the present wrapping decorative bits you have lying around, and of course the present too ( preferably something that can fit into the tub ).
